Mosquito Control in Puerto Rico Vector Control Unit service area, Puerto Rico — Free Help & Local Info
The unit's own about page says it is an initiative of the private nonprofit Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust, not a Commonwealth department. It is included because it is the island-wide public vector program and operates surveillance and control. Its vector-control page states larvicide application and work with government agencies and municipalities. Adulticide was not explicit. Ponce office phone on the same site is (787) 671-3348. A 2024 USVI Department of Health release called this the Puerto Rico Department of Health Vector Control Unit; that label conflicts with the unit's own about page. Municipal programs were not enumerated.

What they will and won't do
Public education and removing standing water are common parts of mosquito programs. Larval control may target public water, ditches and catch basins. Adult mosquito treatment follows local program criteria; a complaint is not a promise of spraying. Inspection eligibility, fish availability, pickup or delivery, response times and seasons vary. Public programs generally do not provide routine yard spraying or event protection on demand. Confirm your address with the agency: ZIP codes and county names do not establish district coverage.
